A biennial auto show held around October, the Paris Motor Show is one of the major car shows in the world and introduces many new concept and production cars. The auto show was founded in 1898 by industry pioneer, Albert de Dion, making it the first auto show in the world. The show started in the Grand Palais, but then expanded to the Porte de Versailles in 1950. Now the show is held at the Paris Expo at the Porte de Versailles. The show was held annually, and then in 1976, it began to be held every two years. This motor show is particularly proud of its support of safety, new forms of energy, and the environment.
