LOUISE HANNIGAN.

With the amount of excitement and anticipation surrounding the upcoming London Olympics, is it any wonder that sportswear is having a bit of a fashion moment? From motorcross inspired rompers at Alexander Wang, luxurious sweaters at Marc Jacobs and popsocks at Victoria Beckham (left to right above,) athletic inspired ensembles are set to be a big hit this Summer.
Banish all thoughts of your gym tracksuit and runners, the luxe part here is key. The look puts an edgey spin on casualness, and it's all in the colour, fabric and fit. See below for your easy guide to nailing the look and get your A-game on.
Your staple for this trend is the vest, though now with detailing you've never seen before. Think fluro piping, mesh and sporty racer backs. All these below can be found on ASOS. Combining one of these vests with simple tailored pieces will instantly update your look.
Typically, sportswear can be seen as the antithesis of glamour. However, by playing your cards right, sports luxe can see you from the office right through to the party. Pair loose fit tshirts and slouchy knited sweaters with anything from these black silk joggers from Topshop, mint green palazzo pants or sequin tube skirt from Mango, and keep accessories to a minimum.
Bandage dresses may be reminiscent of WAGS and TOWIE, but they are a key player in the sports luxe field. These dresses below, from a selection at Miss Selfridge, hit the nail on their head with mesh pannelling, strap detailing and block colours.
Alternatively, pair a loose silk skater dress, such as this one from Mango, or a bright coloured playsuit with pockets  with a chunky, strappy sandal for an easy reference to the trend.

Whitney Port has become the new face for British label, Very.co.uk! Joining Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby, who both design for the brand, Whitney models the range of Autumn Winter 2011 clothes for the Love Label and Love Label Luxe. And as much as we will always love Holly and Fearne for doing what they do at Very we can't deny that The Hills beauty looks fantastic in the campaign shots.
New for this season, Love Label Luxe is a six piece capsule collection made up of premium pieces using luxury materials. The former MTV reality starlet looks the epitome of chic in the new range of apparel, featuring bold and bright colours in classic vintage designs. Whitney is no stranger to fashion - the 26-year-old former City star launched her own label, Whitney Eve, in 2008 and it's gone from strength to strength. There are also reports that Very are set to carry the line next year which would further explain Port’s involvement with the website. Although no details have yet been confirmed, we’ll definitely be keeping our fingers crossed.
Speaking about her favourite piece from the Love Label collection Whitney, 26, says: 'It would have to be the lace playsuit. It's just all so glam - I love everything. 'It reminds me a lot of the 70s, with a hippie twist.' She added 'Quality is of the utmost importance to me but sometimes you’re not in the mood to spend a gazillion dollars. 'I loved the all the Love Label Luxe pieces because the prices are good and they don’t forfeit the quality” We can’t deny that the clothes are gorgeous, but Whitney’s styling and the overall look is also impeccable, with flawless hair and make-up to boot. We can't wait to get shopping!

This week we launch our Irish Fashion Model of the Week where we will be profiling an Irish model in our Interview section.fashioninn4us.blogspot.com
