A vacation spent at Shangrila Resort is a once in a lifetime experience that one would want to relive again and again. Located at a height of 2500 meters, this area is more commonly known as “The Roof of the World”. Due to its natural beauty, the first impression of Shangrila is of a Fairyland.
There is nothing but sheer beauty that surrounds you while at Shangrila and Skardu. you may find lush green forests, streams and springs, and mountains any where in the world but there is something other than that makes the experience extraordinary and above the rest. First of all there is the contrast. you may go to Switzerland or any where else for that matter, and find scenic hills covered with snow and trees but no where in the world will you find green valleys with trees flooding with red and green apples, streams, springs (both hot and cold), scenery that blows your mind, the world’s three highest mountain ranges meeting at one point, the view of Russia, China, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India while standing in one place along with deserts, semi deserts, and wild life that you think was extinct. The second reason for which this area is rightly called heaven on earth is the people.
The people are welcoming and warm. They have not given up there traditions for the sake of modernism. But the trip should not be made by the faint of heart and those who want to pay some money for some luxury. I would recommend the people looking for adventure and something different (something other than the same old mountains of Europe covered in trees) to make the trip. For me, it was the tour of a life time. You will never experienced nothing like that in Europe, the Americas, Africa or any where. Its ideal for newly wed couples as the air is made up of romance and people who wish to enjoy some adventure in life. And not for the people who wish to go to a nice comfortable hotel room with fancy room service to spend their vacation time (not that it doesn’t have those things, but it would be a hideous waste of money).

Uch or Uch Sharif is located in 75 km from Bahawalpur in Punjab province, Pakistan. Uch is also known as “Alexandria at the Head of the Punjab”, is an historical city in Pakistan.

The most elegant building and the prime attraction in Uch is the tomb of Bibi Jind Waddi. Her name has been described by Bibi Jalwandi and Bibi Jind Waddi as well. Since Jind Waddi is a popular name in this region so we believe, this name would be the most appropriate.
It is described by the historians that her mausoleum was built in 1494. The basic structure of her tomb is built by bricks, embellished with stunning glazed tile mosaic. The building is erected in three octagonal stories with lower storey supported by rounded and sloping corner turrets. The second storey was supported with a narrow gallery for walking round and the third is a hemispherical dome, which crowns the building.

There is an aesthetically carved wooden mehrab in the West wall. Basically it follows the typical pattern of Multani architecture on which the tombs of Hazrat Rukn-e-Alam and the Baha-ud-Deen Zakria are built. In 710, Muhammad bin Qasim conquered the city and during the Muslim period Uch was one of the centres of Islamic studies of South Asia. There are several tombs of famous mystics (Sufis) in Uch, notably the tombs of Syed Jalaluddin Bukhari and his family. These structures were joined by a series of domed tombs; the first is said to have been built for Baha’ al-Halim by his pupil, the Suharwardiya Sufi saint Jahaniyan Jahangasht (1307-1383) the second for the latter’s great grant daughter, Bibi Jawindi, in 1494 and the third for the latter’s architect.

In 1947 Lahore boasted of two art institutions and an artists’ community. Karachi had very little post-Partition art activity, which expanded and became enriched by the arrival of pioneering talent people from all over the sub-continent.
Pakistan Art, Artists and Culture
In the early 1950s The Lahore Group initiated experimentation in the Modern idiom of Pakistani art. Ahmed Parvez, Shemza, Ali Imam, Moyene Najmi, Sheikh Safder and Qutub Sheikh were members of this group. Painters looked upon the new aesthetics of Modern Art.Modern Art also seemed to be the chosen visual language was compatible with the national poet Prof. Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s philosophy.
Those who educated in the English medium schools with greater exposure to global changes readily adopted the western idiom to meet the challenges of the new age. The majority, who were unread or received their education in the traditional medium developed a suspicion of western values and regarded.
The Lahore Art Group was committed to modern art but before it could become a cohesive movement its activities were disrupted by political interference. After a gap, when they returned to mainstream art activity, their will had been blunted the spirit. Through visiting exhibitions and art historians, Pakistani artistsreceived considerable exposure to abstract styles.
It was his exposure to Action painting that motivated Guljee to turn to gesture painting. Over the years he incorporated Arabic calligraphy and textured his works with gold leaf and lapis. His latest most prestigious commission was for the Shah Faisal Mosque in Islamabad.
