The size or expense of the wedding does not for one minute dictate any sign of future happiness or fulfilment. Trends have evolved over the last decade considering all of this and we see more people taking simpler option with there hair and a more classical approach rather than going for a trend or seasonal look as we have to remember that images will last longer than a “ Trend” and no one wants to look back and gasp at what your hair was doing! Today’s bride is more educated in terms of options available and has more apt knowledge of the global trends, obviously with internet, media and travel playing a large role in bringing everyone closer it has impacted all other areas of fashion also. A healthy, shiny mane is always an asset.
What sort of hair-care products and brands do you recommend for brides-to-be considering the innumerable occasions she has to be a part of before and after the wedding? Any tips on that?
Hair is actually dead, so an “easy quick fix” simply does not work. We have to plan and have some kind of strategy for our hair. We use various products within the Kimrobinson salons and depending on type of hair we would recommend an appropriate product. Certainly, one size does not fit all. Recently we have introduced a power pack intense treatment that has come from Japan that infuses protein directly into the inner most part of the hair shaft and smooths over imbrications leaving the hair soft, smooth and glowing with shine. Are brides today experimental with their looks and hair-styles? Or are such experiments kept aside for other occasions and events?
Not many brides will risk there look, normally classical looks are more appropriate as they are timeless.
What kind of hair-styles are popular/suitable for brides on the various occasions following up to her wedding (cocktails, mehendi etc) as well as wedding and reception day?
The follow up and all of the events leading up to the actual wedding day are all important and can have the same theme, however I think evolving the style throughout is better as it is almost a lead up to the day, rather than having this or that prior or "a Curly, side parted blow dry” we need to have some sort of story being told rather than looking the same as the guests or every other bride in terms of hair. It is individual based on wants and needs and the face shape, etc.
Lastly, any particular look for this season, both for weddings as well as the latest trends otherwise?
Trend are just that, they come and go and depending on who you talk to and what exposure they have had within the fashion world everyone will give you a different answer. To be honest, women globally are now opting for shorter hair as it gives variation and depending on the individual can lighten up a look instantly. The early 1900’s most men would have an opinion on how there wife wore her hair.
Now we are almost in 2011 and I can assure you very few women world wide would tolerate this kind of thinking. Hair and fashion is a choice and is personal. If we expect to be our best we have to have a say in what we look like, educating women on what they could do is paramount to ensure they understand that even small changes can dramatically enhance areas of there face and body to improve not only there look but more importantly there self esteem. After all, don’t we all want not only to look beautiful but to feel it?
